Elermore Vale NSW is a suburb on the western outskirts of Newcastle, New South Wales. Before becoming a residential suburb in the 1900s, the area was used for chicken farming, cattle farming, and coal mining. By the 1960s, the school and the other facilities of the suburb had been established. Elermore Vale had a population of 5,186 in 2011.
The suburb of Elermore Vale is home to several good schools, including the highly-regarded Macquarie College. There are plenty of bus routes running through the area, although those who enjoy getting around on their own steam can take part in the annual Shaft Shuffle Fun Run which starts and finishes at the popular Shaft Tavern.
It has one of the best private schools known as Macquarie that offers quality education based on Christian teaching. In 2011 the population of Elermore Vale grew up to 5,186. Initial it served as an agricultural centre with major farming such as cattle rearing, chicken farming being one of the primary activities taking place before the area was declared a residential suburb in the year 1900.
The area is located 13km (8mi) in the outskirts of western Newcastle, New South Wales. It covers an area of 2.6km2. It is surrounded by numerous suburb such as Wallsend, Lambton, Edgeworth as well as New Lambton Heights. It is among the largest suburb in the Newcastle. It is famed for its arty architecture.
The town is also renowned for its Newcastle Ferries and Buses, including those that ply the routes of 224, 226, and 222. At its core is a densely populated village that was developed by Pepperwood Ridge developers.
